Okay…since moving to Spokane, it hasn’t taken me long to figure out that I’m going to need all wheel drive. This winter was very unusual with nearly no snowfall thanks to El Nino. Anyway, we live on the South Hill. It’s nearly 1000 feet above I-90 and it’s not far from I-90. This means that there are some real steep hills. I can see it now…La Nina is forecast to be in control of this upcoming winter and any snow with my current car (Mazdaspeed 3) spells trouble.

The Saturday following Mother’s Day 2010, I ordered a 2011 Subaru Outback 2.5 Premium with the All-weather Package, blah, blah blah. A few weeks has passed and I checked in with the salesperson to see how things were pregressing. No word other than there is no update to the status of your order. Okay.

Two weeks later, I check back (late last week). I was just told that it would be early to mid July. Isn’t there some sort of tracking number or VIN that could be accessed by someone at the dealership?

I’ve seen websites that update how many Camaros are available, where they are going, what options they have, etc. Chevy salesmen can find out soon after you make your order what your VIN# is! I imagine that other dealers of other car companies can do the same thing. Am I right? I’d be happier to know that I’m wrong…so if you have any extra information about this, please let me know.

Needless to say – I’m a little disappointed in the availability of information on the special ordered car. Would you be?
