Ahh…It made it to a high temperature of 55 degrees in Spokane. When I look back to Memphis, I see heat advisories and think of how miserable it is to run when it’s that hot. I used to have to battle sweat stinging my eyes nearly the whole run. The only safe time was just before I began.

Today I ran a little over 3 miles. It was cool out, as I mentioned. I still had to deal with some sweat getting in my eyes but I won’t complain. The heart rate was loving the cool weather. My pace ranged between 7:15 and 8:15. It’s a lot more hilly here than Memphis and the elevation is about 2000 feet higher. One of these days, I’ll do a half marathon in Memphis and shatter my old PR. Heh heh heh. I’m still on the mission to run faster than a 1:30 half marathon.

Work is awesome! If I haven’t mentioned it, I really love what I do. Tomorrow, Bob Tobin and I will discuss the upcoming fire season. We’ll post our conversation as a podcast that you can subscribe to or listen to. My plan is to post a new podcast every week or so. Should be a great way to outreach – not only in the Inland Northwest…but across the country. Many of our upcoming discussions will be relevant no matter where you live. Here’s the link to the podcast.
