Last week’s workout was tough. It included 8 1/4 mile hills (actual distance was around 0.2 miles). I chose a hill nearby with a 18% grade. At first, I had a positive attitude but after the 3rd hill repeat, I was just lucky to get up the hill at a slow jog pace (sometimes more than 10 min/mile pace). My legs were jello after the 5th repeat. I was just glad to make it home afterwards! Read more...
This morning I calibrated my footpod using the treadmill. It was very accurate and I hope to see improvement in my runs. Tomorrow is a long run and I’ll run my phone GPS as another method to gauge the real distance. We’ll see how it goes! Read more...
Today was a 40 minute tempo run. My footpod was set for pair 2 which is my new shoes. Unfortunately, the calibration I did last was wrong. It was about 1/4 mile too long. Therefore my pace was showing way slower than I was actually going! That’s no fun! I felt like I was sprinting faster than my intervals…and that’s not good. Lisa and I returned from a 7 day Hawaiian vacation this past Tuesday. Wow! It was so fantastic. We visited Oahu and stayed on Waikiki. We did some hiking and relaxing…also did quite a bit of eating! I won’t say we over did it though.
