I got to run 5 miles yesterday morning at an easy pace. My footpod battery gave out around 2 miles into the run…so I am assuming that I ran close to 5 miles at about a 9:30 min/mile. Then I went to the zoo with Ava. Had to be back home by 130pm so Lisa could take a sewing class. I put the kids down for a nap. Lucianna didn’t sleep. It was a long afternoon. Lisa didn’t return home until close to 5 pm. Then she took Ava to a surprise birthday party at Pump It Up.

Lisa ended up hurting her back/tailbone after sliding down a slide and missed landing on the padding at the bottom of the slide. Her back has been bugging her since before this…however, this really made it unbearably painful for her.

I had an 11 mile run planned for Saturday morning…but Lisa told me around 9 pm that she wanted to go to the ER in the morning. So I suited up and got my 11 mile run out of the way starting at 930 pm. I got home around 1130 pm. Showered and made it to bed around midnight. My pace was 10:15 min/miles…running the second half faster with a max pace of 8:34 min/mile. I felt great! Heat was not a factor…cars were! Had a couple of close calls.

Needless to say, I didn’t sleep great last night. Woke up around 645 am and proceeded to get the girls down from their bedrooms. Lisa fixed them breakfast…I had a hunkering for some waffles. So I made some and Ava even had one. Then Lisa and I took the girls to our friend’s home – they offered to watch the kids while we went to the ER for Lisa’s back. Good thing they have 2 kids (boys) that love to play with our kids…and they like us enough to help us out! We love them. I guess we would do the same for them if they were in the same boat.

Anyway – we were at the ER from about 9 am til 1115 am.

Tonight…Lisa is feeling a little better but definitely not 100% I’m hoping she gets better sooner rather than later.

At least I get to take a couple days off from running. My quads are sore and little sore in my lower legs…nothing unbearable. For the week, I ran about 31 miles…over 5 hours of running. Good stuff!! Getting ready for the half marathon coming up in December.
