Things have been going very well – in terms of my running schedule since returning home. There are about 8 weeks left of training before the St. Jude Half Marathon.

This past week, my leg mucsles started off sore for some reason. I had to take off Sunday due to heavy rain all day and it ended just after I finished dinner. So on Monday I ran a 90 minute run (60 minutes at a slow pace…and 30 minutes at a faster pace). I ended up finishing around 10.5 miles. I should have had my long run on Saturday. Ah well. I won’t be taking another day off until next Friday. Woops!

I ran 8 x 400 hills yesterday which went pretty well. The temperature has been warm and humidity high. So I was supposed to run 3 miles today…but I ran 6 miles and it was tough. I’m guessing because of the heat and still recovering from the intervals.

I’m on a mission to lose at least 15 pounds by the 5th of December. However, I had a very delicious meal at Rafferty’s tonight that probably won’t help the weight loss. I had the ribs and some fries. At least there weren’t a whole bunch of fries. I thought the portion size of the fries was just right. Another problem was that Lisa and Ava wanted desert. The Brookie (or something like that) was pretty darn good. Too good for my sweet tooth. I’m sure I’ll pay for that one! I guess I’ll run another 6 miles to burn off those types of meals, huh?

Still feeling pretty good. The top of my mid foot (right) hasn’t gotten any worse…and perhaps, a little better. I’ll continue to monitor it. I’ve adjusted my shoelaces and hope that the pain disappears over the next couple of days.
