There are only a few more days before the St. Jude Half Marathon. I’m really excited and hope I can finish in the time of 1:30 or less. A couple of weeks ago I felt like I was going to get sick. My throat was scratchy and I even had a few bad runs last week. I think the time of day I run has a lot to do with it. Late afternoon/evening runs are historically bad runs for me. Thank goodness the half marathon run is in the morning – when I usually run my best.

I had a good 2 hour run on Saturday. I took a day off on Sunday. I was supposed to run 3 miles. Oops. However, today I ran 6 uphill 400 meter intervals at 6:15 pace or slightly less. Man did I feel good. Not to say it wasn’t difficult, because it was…just felt good. I’m nearly finished with this training set…and looking forward to taking a little break. Not too long of a break though. I really enjoy running.

I run 2 miles tomorrow morning…then Wednesday I have a 30 minute tempo run. Then I’m just on cruise control until Saturday morning.
