I’ve been really sick since finishing my 10 mile run last Saturday. I ended up having a fever from Saturday night through Tuesday night. It was terrible. I went to the Dr. on Tuesday morning and was diagnosed with a sinus infection and bronchitis.

Today I feel about 95% of normal. I have not run since last Saturday and I have a 10k race tomorrow – Valentines Day. I don’t know how it will go. I can say that all of my soreness from the previous week (38 total miles…6.5 hours total training time) is gone. My shins feel completely healed. I do have a little strain in my left outside portion of my knee (like where the femur meets the Tibia).

I will discontinue running intervals and just concentrate on building my cardio.  In addition, my bones/joints can become more accustomed to running and thus get stronger. Perhaps by September I will have built up a good base to begin interval training to improve running time.

My goal for the half marathon is 1:45…so this time may have to wait until this December at the St. Jude Half Marathon.
